FROM THE EAST

Greetings, I would first like to say thank you for all of you who took time out and gave blood. It was a good time and hope you continue to give next year. If you missed April’s stated meeting you missed Howard’s presentation on the Grotto and the good works they do. You also missed a wonderful Astronomy presentation.

Fraternally,

Michael Fortunato

Worshipful Master

From The West:

We are looking for members to learn different parts of the ritual. If you are interested in learning the rod and floor work or even a lecture we have people to help you. Please see me and we can start that road together.

Fraternally,

Jimmy Dakof

Senior Warden

The 5th NE district is putting together a data base of our members who know parts of the ritual. The idea behind this data base is to help lodges in our district with degree work. If the Master of a lodge in our district needs help with a part he can see who in the district can do what parts and call that brother for help. If that Brother is free that night and can help out great. If not then the Master of the Lodge can go to the next name on the list. If you can help out please let Russ Johnson know what parts you know. This is a great program for Brothers helping Brothers.

Schliep’s Minute…..

In Honor and Memory of Brother Bill Schliep this part of the column will be dedicated to upcoming fraternal events. Brother Schliep at the end of every meeting would let us know what was going on with Medinah, the Scottish Rite or El Jaala Grotto.  So if your Masonic group is having an event and you would like your Brothers to know about please send the information to kingoscarlodge@gmail.com by the 10th of the month to be posted in the upcoming Temple Topic article.

For The Ladies……

The Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America is a fun group open to ladies related to a Shriner or Master Mason and at least 18 years of age. .As a group we raise about 1.6 million annually for the hospitals and we donate 365,000 personal hours of support. Our job is to support the Nobles and Masons in this endeavor.  Karnak Court meets once a month at Westchester Masonic Temple. The ladies sew twice a month at the Chicago Unit of Shriners Hospital and those who are unable to sew at the hospital work on projects at home. We have a Patrol and is not your every day drill team. Our "fun" drills make it easy for everyone to perform and still delight an audience of both children and adults. We also have a Drum Corps and with their snappy march music truly a crowd pleaser. Why not think about joining the White Fez group?  Any questions, contact Adrienne Johnson at 847-966-2471

The RICHARD D. JOHNSON School for Masonic Instruction
